Satellite Imagery Reveals a Fresh Snowpack for Dry California

This morning, the GOES-18 satellite snapped a photo of the Sierra Nevada and its new snowpack deposited over the last few days from the first major winter storm of the season.

The UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab, (CSSL) which monitors snow conditions, reported this morning:

 

A graph from the CSSL website shows that so far, snowfall has risen above the median values.
