ABC News in Australia reports New South Wales is bracing for unusually cold temperatures:
Record-breaking sub-zero temperatures are expected to be felt across New South Wales tomorrow, with one weather forecaster warning of “unusually low” temperatures.
The system comes off the back of the weekend’s cold, snowy change, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
Dry weather conditions are expected, due to a tailing strong high-pressure ridge which is holding cold weather over inland areas.
“We can expect more cold and frosty mornings across NSW up until mid-week,” BOM meteorologist Jiwon Park said.

Mr. Park said the cold snap could topple records in parts of central and southern NSW.
Areas in the Lower Central West, South West Slopes, and eastern Riverina are expected to hit below the minimum temperature records for July.
The record in Temora, in the state’s south west, currently sits at -6.4℃.
The forecast proved correct, as several new cold records were set on July 30, according to a follow-up report from ABC News:
At 6:30am the coldest part of NSW was Goulburn Airport in the Southern Tablelands, where the temperature reached -5.7℃ degrees Celsius.
On the south-west slopes, the temperature at Young was -4.7℃, while further west at Temora it was -4.8℃. Temora’s record low is -6.4℃.
It was a similar story north of the border, where the Wellcamp Airport at Toowoomba recorded a low of -5.7℃ at 6:28am.
Other cold spots in the Darling Downs-Granite Belt area included Oakey (-5.4℃), Warwick (-4.5℃) and Dalby (-4.4℃).
Soldiers were also feeling the chill with the army barracks at Kapooka, on the outskirts of Wagga Wagga, recording a temperature of -4.4℃.
