Kansas City saw two days in a row of record-breaking low temperatures in early August.
The Kansas City National Weather Service (NWS) reported on August 9th that the morning low at the airport was recorded at 54 degrees Fahrenheit. This low temperature breaks the previously held record low for August 9th, which was set almost 100 years ago, in 1927, at 55 degrees.
The same day also saw record low daily high temperatures for August 9th, never getting above 71 degrees, which breaks the previous record of 73 degrees held since 1991.
August 10th likewise saw record lows at 53 degrees, with the previous record low of 58 set in 2004.
