Snowfall warnings and special weather statements are in effect for parts of southern Alberta, as a wintry cold front pushes through the region. Canadian meteorologists say the winter weather is likely to disrupt travel with significant snowfall accumulation as shown in the graphic above.
Citing a statement from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Canada’s The Weather Network reports:
Snowfall warnings and special weather statements are in effect. The snow won’t be the only issue to contend with for residents.
Winds will be gusty, so visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead and to adapt to the changing weather.
The ECCC also predicted temperatures would remain below normal for the region through the end of the week.
