Planet Ski reports a number of ski resorts in Europe remain open or have reopened for limited late spring, early summer operations.
“Conditions at the few open ski resorts remain good for the time of year, with a handful of glacier resorts in Austria continuing to offer some skiing and snowboarding,” says Planet Ski. “Hintertux in Austria has just received 50cm [approximately 20 inches] of fresh snow.”
Other Austrian alpine ski resorts than planning to remain open through late May or throughout the summer, include:
- Stubai – May 21st
- Kaunertaler – May 21st
- Kitzsteinhorn – May 29th
Outside of Austria, Zermatt in Switzerland is open, and Les2Alpes in France and Fonna, in Norway, have reopened after previously closing for the season.
Conditions have been very good for the time of year,” writes Planet Ski commenting on current weather and snow conditions on the ski slopes. “Some say ‘exceptional.’”
