The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that the first three months of 2023 represented the coolest beginning of the year in Phoenix since 1998, according to KTAR News.

In addition, the NWS says precipitation for Phoenix is a half inch above normal for the time period.

“When looking at March alone, Phoenix experienced the lowest average high, low, and mean temperatures, besting the normal temperature ranges from 1991-2020,” reports KTAR News.

Phoenix was not alone in experiencing well below average temperatures in March. The NWS’s Phoenix office reports that both Yuma, Arizona and El Centro, California both experienced well below average temperatures for March.
