Weather Watch and Anthony Cornelius Meteorologist reports on Facebook:

This week marks the first time in 38 years that Brisbane fails to average a maximum of 20.0C or higher!

This makes it the coldest (for maximum temperatures) recorded since 1984 also (38 years).

We certainly felt the impacts of the cloud cover this year in Brisbane – with an average maximum of 19.9C, this makes it the first time since July 1984 when the average maximum for any month failed to reach 20C or higher.

This is quite the opposite to most Julys which are normally cool, dry and sunny during the day but 2022 continues to be a wet and cloudy year for the region.
