Explorersweb.com reports that heavy snow in the Himalayan mountains hampered
the climbing season in Nepal.

“This has been a strange climbing season in Nepal,” writes Explorersweb.com. “Bad
weather and lots of snow thwarted many teams in September and October, both on
8,000m peaks and more technical lower ones.”

Tragedies including deaths from avalanches between some camps, and
unseasonably heavy snow resulted in an early closure of the climbing season in
Nepal.
