Snow Report described the light snow which fell in parts of South Africa and Lesotho at the end of July and the beginning of August.
Low-level snow fell in parts of three South African provinces and the country of Lesotho on August 3. The snow was light and spotty at lower locations with heavier snow amounts accumulating in the mountains.
Approximately 5 cm of snow fell in the lowlands, while as much as 15 cm fell on the mountain peaks and slopes.
According to Snow-Forecast, South Africa’s snow was expected to see a small amount of melt during the day when temperatures range as high as 12℃, only to refreeze at night with lows going -0.8℃. The forecast for the coming week was for more of the same. Daytime highs creeping above freezing on clear sunny skies, with nighttime lows consistently below freezing.
